City of Toronto Licensing
Requirements:
We are pleased to announce
that OCR is now recognized by the City of Toronto for licensing purposes,
effective October 2009.
As provided for in the Municipal Act, the
City of Toronto has enacted a bylaw requiring holistic practitioners and
owners to be licenced by the City. Because our profession is unregulated
by the Ontario government, the Municipal Act allows each municipality to
licence unregulated practitioners.
To be eligible for
licensing, you must be Cerified as a Reflexologist and be a
current member of OCR.
A licence is required for practitioners
providing holistic services. "Holistic services" refer to any modality
(including reflexology) used as a tool for therapeutic and wellness purposes.
A licence is also required for owners
of any premises providing holistic services. "Holistic services"
refer to any modality used as a tool for therapeutic and wellness purposes.
If you provide holistic services, you are
required
to hold both a Holistic Practitioner's Licence and a Holistic Centre
Owner's Licence.

Before you apply for your new licence, it is necessary
for you to obtain your police clearance document from your
local police. For the nearest police clearance center, download this document:

following is a checklist of licence requirements:
- Proof of work status
- Sign police waiver
- Identification
- Police clearance
- Visit our office for a photo to be taken
- Provide your certificate and proof of current
membership from OCR
- Pay the prescribed application fee of $288.60 (renewal
fee is $164.11)

- Holistic Centre Owner: Initial Licence $255.55 -
Annual Renewal $126.67
- Holistic Practitioner: Initial Licence $288.60 -
Annual Renewal $164.11
