Kitchener, Ontario Bylaw
Licensing Requirements for Reflexologists:

City of Kitchener Licensing Requirements:

As provided for in the Municipal Act, the City of Kitchener, Ontario, has enacted a bylaw to license Alternative Massage Centres which includes Reflexology.

We at OCR feel that this is the best by-law introduced which is not complicated and yet it recognizes the validity of complementary health care practitioners.

The following is a summary of the requirements of reflexologists in order to be licensed by the by-law:

  • Annual Fee - $100.00
  • Qualifications:
    • has successfully completed one or more formal courses of education and training in the provision of a particular type of complementary health care;
    • is a member in good standing of a complementary health care organization at the time of application and remains a member in good standing for the period for which the licence or notice is in force; and
    • has demonstrated acceptance and practice of the procedures, practices and ethics of the complementary health care organization of which the individual is a member.

We have enclosed below a link for the complete text of the bylaw for your information.
